Ajooni studies Economics and Government with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Data Analysis, with interests in international political economy, sustainable investment, technology policy, and political participation.
Previous research experience: Undergraduate Research Assistant to Prof. Kolby Hanson in International Relations at Wesleyan. Previously worked with Prof. Mark Jones at Rice University on women's political participation in India and with Prof. Kristen Monroe at UC Irvine on ethics and policy research. Her applied policy experience includes sustainable investment at Etho Capital, autonomous-vehicle policy and compliance at Elytra Robotics, fintech compliance, and legislative/constituent work in the California State Assembly.
How I got started: Before college I worked on faculty projects about political participation and ethics. Those were my first chances to see what it takes to actually investigate a political question. I wanted to keep doing that at Wesleyan and get better at the economics and data side too
