Ahmed is a Physics and Engineering Design student interested in semiconductor physics, renewable energy, climate technology, and quantitative analysis.
Previous research experience: Wesleyan Research Assistant analyzing terahertz spectral data in MATLAB to quantify carrier mobility and lifetime in perovskite semiconductors; installed a vacuum system to improve experimental throughput and automated laser pump-path motion control in LabVIEW. Previously researched at Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering, designing and 3-D printing TPMS electrode catalysts for hydrogen catalysis using SolidWorks and Python.
How I got started: The summer engineering project at Dartmouth was what got me hooked on building and testing things. I've always liked the energy side of physics, so working on semiconductors at Wesleyan felt like a good way to keep exploring that.
