Sreoshi is a Neuroscience and Psychology student whose research spans autism, cross-cultural psychology, adolescent behavioral health, and digital mental-health interventions.
Previous research experience: Research Assistant at Yale on digital mental-health interventions, adolescent behavioral health, and substance-use prevention among underserved youth; previously a Yale Child Study Center summer researcher. At Sewanee's Culture and Media Lab, conducts psychology research. Coauthored a Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders paper using the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study (MoBa) to examine sex differences in childhood behavioral trajectories in autism. Presented qualitative research on minority stress and cultural identity among Bangladeshi international students under Dr. Teri Terigele. She credits Dr. Roald Øien and Dr. Amanda Dettmer with mentorship on the autism project.
How I got started: Mostly by taking on smaller research and review tasks at first. I found I liked both working with developmental data and asking more open-ended questions about culture and identity. My mentors at Sewanee helped me build on that and get involved with collaborations at Yale and elsewhere
