Zoe Dorado is a Pomona College Class of 2027 student majoring in English and Politics. Her research interests include Asian American poetry and performance, humor studies, affect theory, public-interest technology policy, and the criminal legal system.

Previous research experience: Pomona English Department Summer Research Award project on author bios, legibility, and Youth Poet Laureates; an independent study on Asian American poetics and youth participation in the contemporary literary and publishing industry; and a Summer Undergraduate Research Program project on Asian American spoken word, stand-up comedy, humor, irony, and affect.

How I got started: I built relationships with professors through office hours and then asked them to advise my applications for Pomona summer research funding and independent research studies.
