Joanna Lam is a Pomona College Class of 2027 student majoring in Public Policy Analysis-Economics and Asian Studies, with an East Asian History focus, and minoring in Chinese. Her research interests center on economic development policies that bridge socioeconomic divides between rural and urban residents, especially in East and Southeast Asia.

Previous research experience: Education policy research, along with projects on topics including exile activism and tourism policy.

How I got started: Many of my college courses required research papers as final projects, and I used the skills and experience from those courses in job applications to secure research positions.
