Eva Chen is a Pomona College Class of 2027 student majoring in Chemistry. Their research focuses on a toxin-antitoxin protein complex that is highly upregulated in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Previous research experience: I have worked in my biochemistry lab since the spring of my first year at Pomona.

How I got started: I looked through the Chemistry Department directory, identified a professor working in a field that interested me, and cold-emailed to request a meeting. I first shadowed the lab and then formally began research the following summer.
