Taylor Lindsley is an Oberlin College Class of 2028 student studying Psychology and Neuroscience with a minor in Cognitive Sciences. Their research interests focus on how visual perception contributes to cognition, how individual cognition shapes social interactions and judgments, and cognitive development in childhood, including applications to language learning.

Previous research experience: I completed a summer research project with a professor at the University of Glasgow examining perceptual factors that influence change blindness. I reviewed prior literature, administered a behavioral experiment, analyzed data, and presented my findings through an oral presentation and final report. I am also beginning a research assistant position at Oberlin involving EEG and FPVS experiments.

How I got started: I found my summer project through an Oberlin Undergraduate Research newsletter and applied to the program, where I was matched with a professor by the university. For my Oberlin research assistant role, I emailed a professor whose course I had previously taken, explained my research interests and summer experience, and discussed lab responsibilities over Zoom.
