Dylan Sibbitt is a Kenyon College Class of 2026 graduate who majored in Political Science and minored in Japanese. Their research focuses on how AI and digital technologies shape political behavior, civic participation, and economic opportunity among young people, including a 2026–27 Fulbright research project in Indonesia on AI, social media, digital finance, and democratic participation.

Previous research experience: Fulbright research project design; research assistance at Georgetown University on foreign investment and democratic backsliding; Indo-Pacific policy research at the Wilson Center; and student-led youth research through the Kokosing Institute.

How I got started: I started by reaching out to professors whose work interested me and pursuing research-focused internships and fellowships. Over time, I moved from assisting with faculty projects to designing independent research projects and finding mentors and funding to support them.
