Basil Strickland is a Kenyon College Class of 2026 graduate who majored in Psychology. They currently work at Yale on a smoking cessation clinical trial and are interested in public health, substance regulatory science, and how to best treat and support people who want to reduce substance use.

Previous research experience: I collaborated with multiple psychology professors within and outside Kenyon on qualitative, quantitative, and review projects, including addiction-related research and an independent literature review project that I later published with mentors.

How I got started: I entered addiction research through the Kenyon-Ohio State SURE program, where I worked in a lab at an R1 research institution. A research mentor and collaborator later forwarded the Yale job posting that led to my current postgraduate role.
