Andrew Adams is a Kenyon College Class of 2028 student majoring in Biology. Their research interests focus on molecular biology and genetics, especially the seasonal reproductive pathway of the bryophyte Physcomitrium patens and the genes that regulate reproduction in response to environmental cues.

Previous research experience: I have begun developing a plasmid containing a RUBY reporter that can be integrated into P. patens to observe when reproductive genes are active in response to temperature and day-length cues. I also presented a four-minute lightning talk on my progress.

How I got started: I met with biology professors while looking for an advisor, attended lab meetings and journal clubs, and joined the lab after finding a research group that matched my interests.
