Environmental Studies
Eliette studies Environmental Studies and Political Science with a Food Studies focus, researching climate-conflict sensitivity, food systems, international development, and security.
Previous research experience: Dana Research Assistant in Dickinson's Environmental Studies and International Studies departments analyzing whether climate and conflict sensitivity are incorporated into international-development funding. Research Assistant at the U.S. Army War College's Center for Strategic Leadership examining NATO's Political Guidance 2027 process and defense burden-sharing. In summer 2026 assisted Dr. Joshua Eastin at Portland State University with a book on food and war. Earlier independent research in France examined sustainable food security, and policy work at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank examined federal policy impacts.
How I got started: Food and sustainability were my starting point. The more I worked on those topics, the more politics and conflict came into it. Doing independent research in France helped me connect the food systems I was looking at with the bigger policy questions
