Eleanor is a Biology student whose research focuses on prairie-rattlesnake morphology, physiology, population biology, and adaptations for water collection.

Previous research experience: Biology Research Assistant and Student Researcher under Professor Scott Boback. Conducted field research in Northern Colorado using visual encounter surveys, PIT tagging, morphometric measurements, rattle marking, VHF tracking, and blood draws; collaborated with Georgia Tech researchers. Her 2026 project tested whether interscalar tissue can store rainwater, followed by cryostat histology, cresyl-violet staining, SEM imaging, R analysis, and a poster at the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists.

How I got started: Joined Professor Scott Boback's rattlesnake project at the start of sophomore year. I was excited about the fieldwork, and then got to learn the lab and analysis side too. It ended up taking me from collecting measurements to presenting the results at a conference
