Ngoc Minh studies Computational Biology and is interested in precision medicine, genome stability, bioinformatics, and integrating molecular and clinical data.

Previous research experience: Undergraduate Research Assistant in Colby's Thu Lab investigating the role of MMS21 in maintaining genome stability. At MaineHealth Institute for Research, worked under Dr. Matt Lynes on multimodal clustering of post-cardiac-arrest syndrome patients, integrating lipidomics and immune-cell profiles and using XGBoost to identify molecular features associated with patient subgroups and outcomes. Earlier bench research at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology examined phytosome complexes and cancer stem cells under Associate Professor Do Thao.

How I got started: I began with wet-lab cancer biology in high school, then became interested in what coding could add to that work. At Colby I've kept doing basic biology in the Thu Lab. The MaineHealth project let me work with clinical data too, which made the precision medicine side feel much more real
