Ella Vásquez is a Centre College Class of 2028 student majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish. Her current research focuses on learning cell-culture techniques and experiments. In a future research period, she plans to study the effects of toxicants such as plasticizers on cell cultures and examine changes in oxidation of cellular proteins using multiple experimental assays.

Previous research experience: I have not yet completed formal research, but I am beginning research this semester.

How I got started: I reached out to a professor who I knew would be conducting research in upcoming semesters and started a conversation about joining. I shared my interests, and we identified a project that matched them.
