Abhishek Basnet is a Centre College Class of 2028 student majoring in Economics and Mathematics with a minor in Data Science. I'm very broadly interested in economic decision-making across the micro (i.e Auction Theory, Prediction Markets) and macro (i.e Fiscal Policy) levels. These days, I am especially curious about sports economics and how sports can be used to study economic behavior and decision-making accurately.

Previous research experience: I worked on sports analytics research over the summer with Centre Sports Analytics, primarily focusing on Centre College Women's Tennis. I cleaned the data, read relevant papers on Tennis Analytics, and built dashboards to relay my findings.

How I got started: I was made aware of the opportunity through a mass email sent out to Centre students majoring in Mathematics and/or Data Science. I followed the application directions in the email, which included a write-up regarding why I was interested in the position alongside my previous qualifications.
