Abby Hutchison is a Centre College Class of 2028 student majoring in Chemistry. I am interested in bioanalytical chemistry, pharmacology, and drug delivery research. I am particularly committed to increasing access to healthcare in rural areas.

Previous research experience: At Centre, I have been working on developing point-of-care diagnostics for a variety of biomarkers since the spring of 2025. Over the summer of 2026, I worked at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy on existing antifungal drug discovery research, and a new HIV project.

How I got started: I was invited to join my research group, but had I not been, I would have started by asking professors that I had existing relationships with if they had any openings in their lab (or knew of anyone who did).
