Thy Ha is an Amherst College Class of 2029 student studying Mathematics and Economics. Their research interests focus on the economies of low- and middle-income countries, especially international development in Southeast Asia at both macroeconomic and microeconomic levels. They are also interested in wealth disparity and poverty alleviation in the United States, including which government policies most effectively serve low-income communities.

Previous research experience: I have not yet participated in formal research, but I am eager to acquire new skills through research opportunities.

How I got started: I hope to find summer research programs in mathematics or economics that will help me build new skills and expand my existing ones. I am also interested in learning how to reach out to professors at Amherst and other institutions to learn more about development economics and the research process.
