Kayla Werner is an Amherst College Class of 2028 student majoring in English with a minor in Spanish. Her research interests center on literature, especially the intersection of religion and literature, affect theory, and the ways reading shapes the reader.

Previous research experience: Kayla has not yet conducted formal research outside of coursework, but is interested in expanding her research experience beyond the classroom.

How I got started: I have not done formal research yet, but I am interested in learning how to find professors with research interests similar to mine and understanding what literary research looks like today.
