Ayushi Panchal is an Amherst College Class of 2028 student majoring in Neuroscience. Her research interests include women's health, neuropsychiatry, and neuroendocrinology, particularly translational research aimed at developing therapeutics for conditions such as endometriosis, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), menopause, and pregnancy-related conditions. She is also interested in scientific communication around women's health, nutrition, menstruation, and emerging technologies.

Previous research experience: I worked in an academic lab as a clinical research assistant and intern for a FemTech initiative, supporting participant recruitment, data collection, advertising, and women's health technology partnership research. In a separate translational research internship, I developed molecular and genetic laboratory techniques in pursuit of a gene therapy solution for hearing loss.

How I got started: I found research opportunities by emailing professors whose lab projects aligned with my interests, even when they did not have open positions posted. I asked to meet over Zoom, explained my background, learned more about their research, and then asked about internship opportunities.
